Well, I've learned my lesson. Never buy ANYTHING without checking out the reviews here first.

I set this phone up yesterday so I'd have a reliable phone for an important teleconference this morning. I disrupted the whole meeting since everyone on the call could hear the static and buzzing my phone was emitting. I had to hang up and call back on my home phone just to be heard.

I've had Uniden before and they have been fine, so I can't imagine what was wrong with this model, but it's completely unuseable. I've already disconnected it and wil buy the Panasonic DEC 6.0 (Amazon ASIN: B000LYAX1G) instead (got great ratings).

As if the static wasn't bad enough, there were also a number of features missing -- like a mute button; the ability to be on two "extensions" at the same time; limited answering machine capacity; etc. I could go on and on, but these things might have been acceptable if the phone had good sound quality. Without that, the features are meaningless.
